Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Release Date Expectations, Price Estimates, and Upgrades
Samsung’s next big flagship, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, is expected to hit the shelves in early 2025. As the successor to one of the best Android phones currently available, the S25 Ultra will need to carefully fine-tune its design and features to maintain its winning formula while introducing meaningful upgrades.
Expected Features of the Galaxy S25 Ultra
With the Galaxy S25 Ultra launch approaching, we’ve already gotten a glimpse of a few key features. For the rest, we can make some educated guesses based on Samsung’s trends from past models.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is rumored to feature a durable titanium body and Corning's glare-free glass for added durability. While the design will likely retain the flat style of the previous model, it is expected to get rounded edges for a sleeker look. You can also anticipate the return of the integrated S Pen and reliable IP68 water and dust resistance.
The display will likely stick to 6.8 inches and continue to use a Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with its ultra-smooth 1-120Hz refresh rate. Hopefully, Samsung will increase the maximum brightness for better outdoor visibility.
In terms of performance, the device will almost certainly be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. While it’s unlikely, there’s still a slight chance of an Exynos version for regions outside the US.
For the battery, we’re hoping for improved battery life with the Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, a significantly larger battery is unlikely due to space constraints. Faster wired charging would be great, but 45W charging support is expected to remain the same.
Price Estimates
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to cost as much as its predecessor. For reference, the Galaxy S24 Ultra starts at $1,300 for the 256GB version and goes up to $1,660 for the 1TB option.
